During the last week the only hacker which ahs been in the news is French hacker pod2g who has successfully developed the jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 untethered. Well the most demanding jailbreak is in its final phase and it will be coming to you in some days.
By now the hacker has tried the untethered jailbreak on all those devices which are running on A4 chips. Well the community had promised this untethered jailbreak and they have delivered as well. We are really pleased to inform our fellow jailbreakers that the untethered jailbreak code has now been successfully tested on iPad 1 and iPhone 3G devices.
The main things are almost done and the things which are left include jailbreak for old devices, fixing of some stability issues and packaging the whole solution for the general release.
What about the devices which are running on A5 chips. The developer noted in his previous updates that he sill work on those devices too and you can expect and untethered iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak coming on iPhone 4S and iPad 2. No official statement from the hacker has been received yet about any accomplishment.
Pod2g has no plans to go for the beta tester thing as he has reservations about the solution he has prepared. He thinks that this might leak out his solution so all you have to do is to wait for some more time. He said:
“Now the time to finalize the jailbreak for old devices, fix some stability issues and package the whole. That will take some days.”
