Around last week, there happened an event on March 7 in which the world’s most powerful company released the new iPad generation which is iPad 3. With this release Apple also unleashed the latest major update of the fifth generation of its operating system which is iOS 5.1.
Since the very time the update was released, chronic dev team has came up with that tethered jailbreak for this update. Even though it is tethered jailbreak even then many users performed the jailbreak on their A4 devices.
With this tethered jailbreak here is another solution which is for unlocking your device running on iOS 5.1. The toll you will use for unlocking is ultrasn0w. Though it is not an updated version but this is a Cydia tweak named Ultrasn0w fixer which serves the purpose. You have to manually search for it as it has not been publicly released yet. In the developers repo of your Cydia you can find this tweak and this will help you unlocking your device.
Ultrasn0w fixer supports following basebands.
01.59.00
04.26.08
05.11.07
05.13.01
05.12.01
06.15.00
Now lets head towards a simple guide to unlock your A4 devices running on iOS 5.1.
You will need to have a jailbroken device, if not then you have to perform it first. You can read out our guides for performing the tethered jailbreak on iOS 5.1.
1) Launch Cydia and then click on Manage > Sources. There will be a button which will say Add, click on that and in the editor add the following repository: http://repo.iparelhos.com.
2) Once this repo is add, you have to search for Ultracn0w fixer for 5.1. Download and install the device.
3) After the completion of the installation of the tweak you have to search for the required version of it. Search for Ultrasn0w version 1.2.5 on Cydia and install the updated version.
4) Restart you device and insert you SIM card.
You are done. You have successfully unlocked your iOS device running on 5.1.

Can you do an article about what jail-breaking is? Whats the difference between tethered and otherwise? Why jailbreak? What are the benefits? What are the risks?

Yes their is two types of Jailbreaking one is through connecting with your itune is called tethered jailbreak via wire or 2nd through direct software through your device without wire connection to itune is called untethered jailbreak. Hope you will understand the basic difference between both jailbreaking.
