It has been noted that many countries are looking forward to have a control on the networks and cellular services in the country for military uses. The security reasons have always been the priority for any nation and they have to take the proper steps to make their nation strong and to access the material that has been exchanged through different devices between people.
According to released memo, it has been revealed that Apple, Nokia and RIM are now providing the backdoor cellular access to the Indian Army.
This was revealed in a report by ZDNet. It reported that a memo said so which was released by a group of hackers named The Lords of Dharmaraja. The hackers’ group is also from India and this leaked document reveals that there happens to be a system which is called as RINOA SUR.
It has also been noted that the Ri from the RINOA is the RIm, NI stand for Nokia (The largest cellular manufacturer in India) and the A stands for the world’s most powerful company Apple. The hackers suggested that they don’t know what the SUR stands for.
Well this is something expected because last year the Government of India has said to the RIM that their services will be completely shut down if they do not let the government intercept the messaging services provided by the Blackberry.
That meant that no more Blackberries in India and RIM is obviously not in a position to lose their market in the country who’s population is more than 1 billion. The worlds second largest country after China based on population is India and RIM could not afford such a big loss.
ZDNet reported: “And this is where things start to get very interesting, according to the set of documents, the RINOA SUR platform was used to spy on the USCC—the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission.
The documents contain snippets of emails sent by members of the USCC. Apparently, RINOA SUR platform has been declared a success and the Indian Navy has shown interest in the same. ”
