Apple released the most anticipated operating system of its ecosystem in October, Yes iOS 5 has been in the market fro about a couple of months and when it was released, iPhone Dev team developed Ultrasnow unlock tool update to the version 1.2.4. This update brought support to the devices including iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS.
The same tool should have been updated after the release of iOS 5.0.1 software updated but iPhone Dev team was reluctant in updating the tool. So the users are having a problem unlocking their devices on iOS 5.0.1. To address this problem, some other developers have taken a step and some up with a “Fix for Ultrasn0w” on iOS 5.0.1.
Following is a step by step procedure for you to follow for installing Ultrasnow fixer.
1) Your device must be iOS 5.0.1 updated. If it is not, then you have to update it first before further proceeding in this guide.
2) Your device must be jaibroken on iOS 5.0.1. If it is not you can jailbreak it from any tweak for jalbreaking.
3) After you have a jailbroken device, go to Cydia from your spring board.
4) Go to Manage > Sources > Add and then write the following repository in the editor.
“http://cydia.iloveidevice.tk”
If that repository does not work for you, you can add “http://cydia.myrepospace.com/smolk/”
5) After doing ths get back to the source and you will have 2 Ultrasnow fixers. One is for iPhone 3GS and other for iPhone 4.
5) Choose according to your device and install it after downloading it.
Congratulations you have successfully installed Ultrasnow fixer on your device. Now you can unlock your iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS on iOS 5.0.1.
For all those iPhone 4S users, they have to wait as there is not any unlock tweak available yet but iPhone Dev Team has promised and something will be coming your way for sure.
