Apple has finally unveiled important details of iOS 6 at WWDC 2012. iOs 6 supports numerous new features and upgrades including the ones for new Google 3D maps, face book integration, updates for Siri and many other features. Interestingly, most of the rumors related to next generation of iOS which have been prevailing since last couple of months has turned to be true.
First beta version for iOS 6 so far is available for developers only and public version is due till somewhere fall this year. Here is some insight to this next generation operating system for all that details you would like to know.
3D Maps
Apple is working on its 3D maps for inclusion in iOS 6 not only to provide better experience to Apple users but also to get rid of Google Maps. In-house developed Apple 3D Maps app is in development phase and Cupertino Company is working on them using C3 Technologies.
WWDC gave a detailed insight into these 3D Maps and various features. Special planes have been hired to capture land aerial views fitted with special cameras. These planes will fly over cities to capture actual images and this imagery will be merging together to extract refined aerial view to generate 3D maps. Further, to enhance these maps for better user experience many additional features have been added to these maps.
Better Version of Siri
Siri has also been given its due consideration for improvements and new updates for iOS 6. Since it’s one of the most famous Apple applications which has come a long way with iOS and people would definitely want to see further new features so this fact has not at all being ignored. Siri has been updated to support Italian, Canadian, Taiwan, Korean etc. With OpenTable you can make reservations in your favorite restaurant. You can ask Siri for sports updates, new movies, actors, directors. You can tweet directly using various applications designed for Siri. Since Apple is a partner with different state of the art automobile brands like BMW, Mercedes etc, so special hardware buttons have been added in their cars to launch Siri application. Above all Siri has been updated to support iPad 3G.
Facebook Integration
We have been watching Twitter being stepped up with iOS since long and it has been desired to see similar updation of iOS with other social networking sites. So here is the big news, most desired Facebook has been integrated to iOS 6 in a very similar way Twitter is. Login credentials, linking, status updates, wide range of content posting like pictures, locations, profiles; all has been imbedded with the iOS 6. iOS Notification Center even streamlines and makes this process simpler. You can like an app directly and can post the contents from Safari and photo app directly to your Facebook account. Moreover you can choose the level of visibility to your post and location detailed attached to posted content.
