Instagram, one of the famous photo sharing application has finally arrived for the Android phones. The app was already released for the world’s finest platform. Yes, we are talking about iOS.
App Store received Instagram back in October 2010 and with the customization it offered, received more than 1 million downloads. Now finally the desperate users of Android must be delighted to know that their application is live now.
Today, the company released the Android version of the app adding “Get it on Google Play” link next to the App Store download option without much fanfare. The release has finally made it after its announcement. CEO Kevin Systrom talked about it arrival back in the SXSW’s conference last month in Austin.
At that time, he only talked about the Android version and showed us nothing as it was not available for a demo. Kevin then said: “in some ways, it’s better than our iOS app. It’s crazy.”
The app is now available on the Google Play which was previously known as Android market. The least version of the Android which this application supports is Android 2.2. The app is pretty smooth with custom designed filters and borders having the support for both front and rear camera. The app also has the new Lux photo editing feature and obviously the instant support for the best social networks like facebook, Twitter, Tumblr etc.
The app for iOS received an update adding a simpler and user friendly interface for the user of iOS devices. Also in the same update, the company added the famous Lux feature which is very intelligent and awesome photo editing tool. To avoid any kind of privacy, the company also recently updated its iOS app to require users to give the app permission to upload their contact lists.
