HTC has a fabulous line-up of Android smartphones with top class features and specifications. Now, the company has decided to add another smartphone – the HTC One to that list. The new phone will be HTC’s flagship Android smartphone of 2013 and will bring along a series of new features that’ll help distinguish it from other flagship phones in the market. Let’s find out what they are.
Body and Display:
The HTC One has a aluminum construction that looks great and provides good comfort while handling. It measures 5.41 x 2.69 x 0.37 inches and has a gapless design that feels nice and solid. The phone has a reasonable weight of 143 grams which doesn’t cause much problems in terms of portability and single-handed operation
At the front, you’ll find a lively 4.7-inch Super LCD3 capacitive touchscreen display that has amazing brightness and colors. It has a resolution of 1080 X 1920 pixels which results in a stunning pixel density of 469 ppi which is ideal for viewing high definition content. On top of the screen is Corning’s Gorilla Glass 2 which provides protection against scratches and drops. Altogether, the HTC One is easily one of the most gorgeous handsets you’ll come across.
HTC One comes with a unique 4 megapixel camera which HTC has termed as the Ultrapixel camera. The reason the company has given it that name is because the camera has 2-micrometers pixels which are significantly larger than normal pixels in smartphones. This allows the sensor to capture in more light and picture details resulting in a class leading low-light performance. Furthermore, the sensor is accompanied by HTC ImageChip 2 and a single LED flash for providing superior results. In terms of resolution, you’ll be able to take photos up to a resolution of 2688 x 1520 pixels and shoot 1080p videos at 30 frames per second. In addition, there are features like smile shot, face detection, digital zoom, Burst mode, etc. which offer flexibility while using the camera.
HTC has included a powerful set of processing power into the One. WIth a 1.7 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, Adreno 305 graphics and 2 GB of RAM, the HTC One can handle everything you throw at it with ease. You can run 3D games, high-end applications, and multi-task without encountering problems like slowdowns or lags. The phone’s internal memory will be 32 or 64 GB depending on your region.
When it comes to software, the HTC One has Google’s Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system with the company’s own Sense v5.0 user interface. As usual, Android brings along a lot of amazing features and functionality but HTC has added many more innovative features and apps on top of it. The user interface utilizes a feature called HTC Blinkfeed which brings the latest social updates, messages, news, etc. straight to your home screen. Other unique features include HTC Zoe, HTC Sense TV, HTC BoomSound and much more.
HTC One arrives with a non-removable battery unit having a power capacity of 2300 mAh. The company hasn’t provided any official data in terms of talk time and stand-by time. However, it will easily last for a day and a half with normal smartphone usage.
