One of the most awesome features just released by the search giant is Google Wallet. This is a simple app that turns your smartphone into a wallet capable of doing payments as you shop or dine in. This si the technology Google introduced back in may and intended that it will be launched sometime in this summer and here it is.

Google has always been very keen to giving some ravishing applications to the users. Recently Google Maps almost killed every other navigation based site and then it launched Google Flights which will surely kill many giant in flights search.

Currently the “Wave and pay” system of payment is only present in Nexus S 4G which is Google’s very own smartphone. Sprint is the only carrier of the Nexus S 4G smartphone in United States. Google intended to make other Android based smartphones compatible to this service.

The Google Wallet is based on near-field communications (NFC) technology and allows the smartphone to be used as a wallet. Google said on its Blog Spot the other day:  “Google Wallet is aimed at making it easier for you to pay for and save on the goods you want, while giving merchants more ways to offer coupons and loyalty programs to customers, as well as bridging the gap between online and offline commerce”.

It was in the testing phase since its announcement and now the service is available to everyone out there with a Sprint Nexus S 4G smartphone. The issuing bank is Citi and only the MasterCard is compatible for the Google Wallet yet but reports said that more than 30,000 cards could be used later with this service. Google is also very keen in making the service a big hit and it is also offering to the first users rather every user who uses the service till this year a free $10. This surely will attract a bunch of users for Google Wallet.

Osama Bedier, vice president of Google’s payments said: “Our goal is to make it possible for you to add all of your payment cards to Google Wallet, so you can say goodbye to even the biggest traditional wallets,”

He further added: “This is still just the beginning, and while we’re excited about this first step, we look forward to bringing Google Wallet to more phones in the future.”

Google is first to add this wave and pay service for consumers and is intending to enlarge it as soon as possible. In my opinion, If Google want this to be a as famous as its other services, It has to be made available to every Android based Smartphone because everyone of us do not have Nexus S 4G. Google will surely add a list if smartphones compatible with the service shortly, since then all those who have Nexus S 4G, enjoy the service and don’t forget to mention your views, merits and demerits of the “wave and pay” payment module. We would be glad to hear some of the reviews from you. For more exciting news, keep visiting us.
