The users who are using any iOS device that is powered by A4 processor do have a chance to be happier than those who have the latest versions. They now can brag about their devices because they have something which is not available for A5 devices (iPhone 4S and iPad 2) yet. All the credit goes to the Pod2g, who is the key member of Chronic Dev Team.
He released the untethered jailbreak for A4 devices running on iOS 5.0.1 a few weeks back. Since then jailbreaking has been into the news so much and the users of A5 devices are promised to be given their exploit in the coming days. We don’t know when exactly will it hit the users but we will update you when ever it comes into day light.
The journey of the A4 users has also not been without any hiccups. Pod2g provided the Chronic Dev Team and iPhone Dev team with his exploit to develop the jailbreak tool. The Chronic Dev team developed the Corona Package for the users who perform the jailbreak untetrherd on A4 device running on iOS 5.0.1. iPhone Dev Team has not developed any package rather they brought the update for their famous jailbreaking tool Redsn0w.
Many users noticed the bug after the performing the ailbreak in which some of the native apps from Apple are crashed and when you launch the, it redirects you to the spring board. iBooks is the app which is reportedly getting this crashing issue and this is one of the famous apps from App Store and almost every Apple user has this installed on their device. Well this crashing is happening due to the jailbreak protection that Apple have integrated into the application.
Well Corona package was updated recently to cover this iBooks crash issues. This update was put in place after one of the main default repositories refused to publish a ‘fix’ known as xBooks due to the ‘brutal’ nature of the hack.
In a new blog spot from the Frenchman Pod2g and in a tweet from Fatter of Cydia, Saurik has confirmed the Corona 1.0.5 update is bnow avaialble in Cydia which is developed to resolve the iBooks issue along with the launchd socket issue. An initial update to version 1.0.4 briefly went live in Cydia, before Saurik added a force reboot on upgrade and pushed a new version taking Corona to the current 1.0.5 release.
It is very simple to make it work now. If you have Corona already installed on your device as a jailbreaking tool of untethered iOS 5.0.1, then all you need to do is to navigate to Cydia. Then simply upgrade the Corona package to the latest version available whcih will automatically fix the iBooks issue, Launchd issue and other bugs.
If you have performed your untethered iOS 5.0.1 on your A4 device through the Redsn0w of iPhone Dev Team, then again it is very simple as Musclenerd the key player of the team has updated the jailbreaking tool to fix all these kind of issues. For now you have latest Redsnow available for both Windows and Mac which is Redsn0w 0.9.10b4 which has the solution for all the bugs and iBooks crash.
If you are using A4 device and have not jailbroken it yet, then you can read our guide on which we have step by step procedure which easily let you perform the untethered iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak on your iSO device which is powered by A4 processor. The guides are available for both Corona package and Redsnow.
