Facebook for the past few years is ruling the entire social networking world in the Silicon Valley. he social networking giant is the largest site based on the active users it holds and the number of users of Facebook are said to be 750 million around the world. Half of the users are those who log in to their accounts daily. Facebook is best renowned for its awesome feature and in past few months many new changes have been made and many more are on the way to come.
At the F8 Developer conference held a few days back, Facebook announced many upcoming features like closer integration with apps and social apps within Facebook for reading books and listening to music or reading different newspapers. The most interesting features to come along is “Timeline” feature which is a new way to visit any profile.
This new feature will be coming to Facebook in next few weeks. Facebook timeline is basically a visual representation of user’s updates like statuses, photos, videos and other activities like marking the different events of one’s life. Memorable or important parts can be marked and then you can make them visible for the others and in this way the whole life of a person can be viewed.
Statuses and updates vary from person to person, some people share quotes, jokes, Funny videos and about the daily routine. All these updates are not supposed to be remembered like what I ate at the party with friends is no more needed after a week. But some updates are supposed to be remembered for life time like the picture from the graduation convocation, a video of your wedding or a status update with so many comments and fighting stuff.
In this timeline feature, users will be able to mark their famous updates and they will be visible to anyone who visits your profile and your whole life can be seen in a glance, Privacy settings are obviously there for people who don’t want to share anything with anyone. In this way timeline features can make your Facebook a storybook of your life.
Facebook also announced some social apps which will enable users to post activities like reading a book, watching a movie or cooking etc. Those apps will be gathering data according to the users taste and then the different ads will be advertised according to the taste of the audiences on their walls. Isn’t it cool that we will only see the ads which are according to our taste and interests? Different various locations that have ever been checked in by you will also be visible to anyone who visits your profile. The location showcase is automatically made by the Facebook.
Clearly Facebook is on its way to provide the users that stuff which is no where else, this is the only reason which makes it more interesting and more popular. Facebook knows the needs of the users and F8 conference had it all. We are very keen to find out how the timeline feature look like, but we have to wait until it is rolled in.
