Redsn0w 0.9.9b9d To Fix iPhone 3GS Issues On iOS 5.0.1

An update was released for the famous jailbreaking Redsnow 0.9.9b9 tool just a few days ago by iPhone Dev Team. Redsnow 0.9.9b9 specifically aimed to jailbreak iOS 5.0.1, with new added features but unexpectedly, it faced few common problems by iPhone 3GS users. iPhone 3G users commonly observed one problem with the untethered jailbreak. The problem with untethered jailbreak is now resolved for old-bootrom 3GS with this version.

Here is an updare for Old-bootrom 3GS, which is specifically for iPhone 3GS users. iPhone 3G Users who are presently using old-bootrom 3G with Redsnow 0.9.9b9d to jailbreak, they can download this new version and re-run it.

This updare is labeled as #17d and corrects the problem encountered in Redsnow 0.9.9b9d. To resolve the issure, simply download this update and re-run it. You old-bootrom 3GS will be corrected with out any data loses.

iPhone3GS owners in our comments section below noticed a problem with the untethered jailbreak available for the old-bootrom 3GS. We’ve corrected that problem in 0.9.9b9d. If you have an old-bootrom 3GS and have already used last night’s redsn0w on it, you can re-run it again without losing anything. Just use this new version, go to Extras->IPSW and manually select the 5.0.1 IPSW, then go back and Jailbreak it again (but you can uncheck Cydia because it’s already installed).

Go to Extras > IPSW and here select 5.0.1 IPSW mannualy. Finally, you just have to jailbreak your device again and you are done .
