The wait is about to end but still we don’t know when exactly are we getting our hands on it. Yes we are talking about the untethered exploit for iOS 5.0.1 for A5 devices which are iPhone 4S and iPad 2. The jailbreaking community has always been very keen to provide their best exploits to the users as soon as possible. The untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 on A4 devices was released in the end of the year 2011 and since then the hackers are telling us that the exploit for A5 devices is just a few days to go. How many days exactly we are left with till the release, we can’t say anything with certainty.

We have been receiving almost every progress that is made by the Dream Team. For those who don’t know the Dream Team, it is a team made by the hackers who provided the A4 untethered exploit, Pod2g. He has called upon many hackers from different teams including Msclenerd from iPhone Dev Team, Planetbeing and Saurik, the founder of Cydia. Previously we are provided with the video in which the hacker pod2g was demoing the iPhone 4S running the exploit. Then we viewed an image in which iPad 2 was shown on an untethered iOS 5.0.1.

Now again we get some details about the exploit in the blog spot of iPhone Dev Team. The untethered jailbreak for A5 devices is almost ready to pop and you will finally be able to customize your device according to your preferences. You will be able to add third party applications and jailbreak tweaks on your device to make it more out of it. In the blog spot the iPhone Dev team confirms that the Jaibreak is ready to be unleashed and the reason it has been delayed is that the Dream Team is trying to make it as bug free as possible.

Let’s have a look n what the hackers have to say about the untethered exploit for A5 devices.

“To be as flexible as possible, the A5 version of the corona jailbreak will take multiple forms:

Chronic Dev have incorporated the overall flow into a GUI that runs on your Mac or PC. The goal is for the GUI to be enough for most cases.

iPhone Dev have incorporated the exact same flow into a command-line interface (CLI). This will allow us to help users through individual steps of the jailbreak manually, to both help the user and help improve the overall flow. Although the CLI will also allow the user to perform the entire jailbreak from beginning to end, we anticipate it will be more useful in debugging the occasional errors. The CLI currently has over 20 individual options (in addition to the single “jailbreak” option) that should be useful during debug after the GUI release.

Once all the bugs in the flow are worked out, we’ll also incorporate it into the redsn0w GUI (but still leave the CLI freely available too). In order to maximize the chances of the jailbreak working for everyone, the redsn0w GUI will use native Apple iTunes libraries — this technique is slightly different than how the Chronic Dev GUI handles communications, and should provide nice combined coverage for all the odd computer configurations out there.”

It further went down to tell you which versions of the iOS will be supported by this untethered exploit. It said:

“The supported firmware versions will be:

    iPhone 4S: 5.0 (9A334), 5.0.1 (9A405) and the “other” 5.0.1 (9A406)

    iPad 2: 5.0.1 (9A405)”

Well what if you are among those users who want to unlock their device as well. This is what hackers have to say to you. It said:
“iPhone 4S owners looking to maximize their chances of achieving an eventual software-based carrier unlock should be staying at 5.0. Everyone else should be at 5.0.1. If you’re an iPhone 4S owner who already updated to 5.0.1, it’s too late to go back down to 5.0. But if you’re on 9A406 it is possible to downgrade the BB by going to the 9A405 version of 5.0.1 while the window is still open.”

So it is the time for you to get ready and start waiting until the testing is over and we get what we want.

“The overall flow used by the GUI and CLI to inject the A5 corona jailbreak has never been done before, and there may be unforeseen problems once it’s released to the public. It’s very important for you to sync your data, photos, and music before attempting any version of this jailbreak.”

About the time it will be released to the public, it said what we have already told you that once the bug testing phase is over, it will be out for you.

“As mentioned at the start of this post: when testing has shown most of the bugs have been fixed!”

You can also read out the com, pklee blog spot if you want to but I think the summary has been posted here. The jailbreak which was inevitable finally is in testing phase now so you must get ready for the most anticipated and wanted jailbreak of the year.

We should remind you once again that if you are a potential jailbreaker and have not updated your firmware yet, then this is the time to do it finally. Apple has already seeded the third beta of iOS 5.1 to the developers and we don’t know when exactly the company is aiming to release it.

The version which is official now is the one we are having a jailbreak for. IT is iOS 5.0.1 so do not forget to update it before it’s too late. Also don’t forget to save your SHSH blobs which will assist you for downgrading the iOS version if you ever needed in the future.

If you have an A4 device then your untethered exploit is already available, you can get it and you have a chance to brag over A5 device unless the exploit for them is released as well.
