Apple has certain boundaries and according to the privacy policy of the brand, it does not allow anyone manipulate any of features it has. Wait a minute? Privacy Policy? Well who cares. Right? This is when I say jailbreaking is one of the best things that has ever happened with the iOS. We admit, we all love Apple, its products, apps and iOS but what we love the most is the jailbreaking community which brings us with mroe optins and let us enjoy with our iOS devices more than Apple wants us to.
Jailbreaking changes everything about your device. It gives you more control and access on your device, You are provided with an open resource App Store we call it as Cydia in which you can have multiple tweaks and apps available developed by non official developers. It brings a whole new range of apps which brings more customization to your device.
Apple launched the iOS 5 in the last quarter of 2011 along with the next step generation of iPhone which is iPhone 4S. The device had some good enhanced features but almost it was like iPhone 4. Apple marketed the smartphone on only one feature which is the personal voice assistant. Yes we are talking about Siri and we all know the capabilities and extra ordinary functionality it brings to your device.
Jailbreaking has made many things available to the personal assistant. It is only dedicated to iPhone 4S and non other device can have it, but hackers have developed many successful ports of Siri to the devices other than iPhone 4S. Obviously they do not work at their best because Apple servers are not behind it. If you remember s hacker taken the functionality to this level that he locked and unlocked his car by just saying Siri to do so. This is just awesome and now there is another thing.
Have you noticed that the microphone that appears when Siri is evoked is Purple in color? You can now change it and select the color of your own choice. This is where we say Jailbraking gives you more customization. Yes you can now change the color of your Siri but you will need a jailbroken device. As iPhone 4S has the fully functional Siri and there is not any jailbreak that is available for iPHone 4S, but nothing to worry as the jailbreak untethered for iOS 5.0.1 is near for A5 devices. For all A4 devices, if you want to change the color of the mic of Siri, follow these simple steps.
1) From the spring board of your jailbroken device, open up Cydia.
2) Then navigate to Manage > Resources > Edit > Add.
3) Now you are supposedt to “http://repo.technetec.com”
4) Tap in the TechNetec repo which will be visible there.
5) Now select the color of themic you want.
6) Tap on the install.
7) This will reboot, if you didn’t have WinterBoard. If you had it, it will say “Return to Cydia”
8) Now ipen Winterboard once you are done with the installation.
9) Go to the Themes and then select the preferred Siri Color option.
Songratulations you have successfully installed a new color on your Siri and this will surely make you friends amazed if they have not a jailbroken device. Siri has been in to the news and hackers have recently suggested that Apple might be thinking to make the port of Siri to other devices legal. This is reported after one of the hackers explored the third beta of the iOS 5.1 which is seeded to the developers a week ago.
