Apple has never wanted anyone to exploit their products but thanks to jailbreak community who is quite committed to provide the best exploits and jailbreaks to almost each update by the company. The only untethered jailbreak we had before was for iOS 4.3.3 with the help of the tool named JailbreakMe 3.0. Apple launched the fifth generation iOS back in October and the jailbreak community has tried its best to give you the maximum until last week when the French developer named Pod2g came up with the untethered jailbreak.
Pod2g is a key player of the Chronic Dev team and once he made this exploit for the A4 devices, he provided his coding to the Chronic Dev Team and the iPhone Dev Team. The chronic dev team then developed a Corona package which appears in the Cydia of already tethered jailbroken devices and the iPhone Dev team updated the already existing jailbreak tool with this iOS 5.0.1 untethered for the A4 devices.
What about those devices which are running on A5 processors. There are only two devices right now which are iPhone 4S and iPad 2 running on A5 chips and the developer has promised the users that their exploit is coming their way in some days. Now to give out the maximum out of the jailbreaking community, Pod2g has called upon the world’s best hackers from the Chronic Dev Team, iPhone Dev team and planetbeing. Saurik who is also an awesome developer has joined the new team and the new team is named as “Dream Team” by the French developer.
The dream team has gotten some progress in the jailbreak for A5 devices as it has been mentioned in the tweets from many developers including Musclenerd and Pod2g. Today another news has came in that the Pwn Dev Team has contacted the Pod2g for the access of iOS 5.0.1 untether exploit for A5 devices for “Ac1dsn0w” which is the latest tool for jailbreaking from the Pwn team. It is currently available for the Mac users only. The new tool launched in the community with a bit controversial launch, as the tool at first contains some library files that are protected under the Apple’s copyright, but later fixed within the next update.
One of the key members of the Pwn Dev team named imRel0ad has tweeted that he has received an email from the POd2g to publish the A5 untether exploit through their tool. He said: “I just had a talk with @pod2g via email. Such a nice guy! He will share with us his iOS 5 untethered exploit. Ac1dsn0w untethered is coming!”
Weel yo might be wondering from where this Pwn Team anda their jailbreak tool has appeared all of a sudden. Well if you dont know about it, we will brief you. Pwn Dev Team is a team of developers and hackers of iOS which are aiming to provide the new features and methods to provide the users with jailbreak.
It has claimed the couple of big things with their first launch of the jailbreaking tool like remote jailbreaking, but has not been yet able to provide any clue regarding their project.
For the time being obviously there is not any reason to select the Ac1dsn0w over Redsn0w or other jailbreakng tool. If it gets the untethered jailbreak for A5 devices exclusively from Pod2g, then surely it will emerge as a shining star in the jailbreak community. We don’t know any thing for sure yet, time ill tell us everything.
